Home Visits

Home visits are available for patients who are housebound or terminally ill and cannot come to the surgery. All requests for home visits will be assessed by a Doctor.

Please do not ask for a home visit if you are physically able to get to the surgery.

Where possible please telephone before 10am so that the doctors have time to plan their list of home visits. Calls made after 12.30pm will be dealt with by the Duty Doctor.

When you request a visit, the receptionist will ask for details. This information enables the doctors to plan their calls and allows urgent visits to be dealt with promptly.

If the patient has a rash or temperature it will do them no harm to come to the surgery and will not endanger others, please inform the receptionist on arrival.

Doctors do not visit children at home. No harm will be caused to the child by bringing them to the surgery where they would usually be seen quicker.

In one hour a doctor is able to see 8 patients at the surgery, but is only able to make 2 or 3 home visits .s
