Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via the website, in person or via the prescription line 0844 5769426 and choose option 2

PLEASE NOTE: Prescription requests made via the website will not be actioned until the following working day. If you order at the weekend, the request will not be picked up until the Monday, or the Tuesday if it is a Bank Holiday weekend.

Home visits
If you are genuinely unable to attend the surgery, we will visit you at home. Please make your request by 10.00a.m, so we can plan our rounds. Calls made after 12.30p.m will be dealt with by the Duty Doctor.

Out of Hours
We belong to PELC, a London based on-call service which uses the services of some local GP’s. Please call: 0844 5769426

Test Results
Please telephone after 11.00a.m if you wish to find out the results of your blood test, x-ray, urine sample etc.

Update on measles outbreak declared on Merseyside

A measles outbreak has been declared on Merseyside. There are 13 confirmed and 16 suspected cases ranging in age from nine months to adults aged in their 20s. Six people, four children and two adults, required treatment in hospital. This compares to just one confirmed case on Merseyside in the first six weeks of 2011 and one in the corresponding period of 2010.

Update on Legionnaires’ Cluster Associated with a Hotel in Spain

10 February 2012, 1400hrs. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has this week been alerted by the Spanish public health authorities about a further case of Legionnaires’ Disease in a UK resident who stayed at the Diamante Beach Hotel in Calpe, Costa Blanca, as well as two French cases. This brings the total number of UK residents associated with this cluster to 12, with three deaths.

CARE OF THE ELDERLY

We have Community Nurses dedicated to caring for the elderly and housebound. We also offer annual health checks for patients over 75yrs. These are carried out by a Practice Nurse or, if you are unable to attend surgery, a Community Nurse will visit you. If you need this service, please contact the surgery to arrange.

COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH TEAM

Based at The Lantern Centre, Latton Bush. Referrals are via the Doctor or the hospital psychiatric service.

DIETICIAN - Tracy Parker

Holds fortnightly clinics and helps run our Diabetic Clinic. Jane holds “Group” sessions for newly diagnosed diabetics. Referrals are made by the Doctors and Practice Nurses.

Routine Check-Ups

Patients aged 16-74 who have not attended the surgery for 3 years, may book an appointment for a routine check-up. Ask Receptionist for details.

Test Results

x-ray-results Please telephone after 11.00a.m if you wish to find out the results of your blood test, x-ray, urine sample etc.

Please note that many tests will take up to 10-14 days to be returned to the Practice.

Test results are normally only given to the patient in the interests of confidentiality.

Appts may be booked. Patients may attend either practice.

Please note : When you need a Fasting Blood Test; nil by mouth should be taken for 14 hours before the test. You may drink water. If you do not follow this instruction, your blood sample may be invalid.

Private Medical Care

stethescope Not all the services we provide are covered by the NHS and free of charge. Items such as Private Certificates, Private Medical Examinations, Employment Reports and Insurance Claims attract a fee. A full list of charges is displayed in the Waiting Room. Or please ask the Receptionist.

N.B The Doctors do not sign passport applications nor shotgun certificate applications.
